Vytwo is looking for an experienced Mainframe Lead to join our dynamic team supporting the banking and finance sector in Dallas or Austin, TX. This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days onsite per week) where you'll take ownership of critical mainframe systems that power financial operations at scale. Hiring: Mainframe Lead – Banking / Finance
Location: Dallas, TX / Austin, TX
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Day One: On-site required

Responsibilities:
  • Lead mainframe development, maintenance, and optimization efforts for banking and financial systems
  • Oversee and mentor a team of mainframe developers and engineers
  • Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and/or DB2
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Ensure system performance, availability, and security of mainframe environments
  • Drive modernization initiatives and integration with distributed systems
  • Manage incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management for mainframe platforms
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on mainframe experience in a banking or financial services environment
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and/or IMS
  • Proven experience in a lead or senior technical role managing mainframe teams
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, core banking platforms, or payment processing
  • Experience with mainframe performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX 3 days per week
